The Story

Manufactured under the Royal Vale trade name by HJ Colclough, (the saucer in the 1940’s and the tea cup in the 1950’s/60’s), this item is a fine porcelain tea duo in beautiful soft pink and a gold misted trim decorating both the rim of the saucer as well as the tea cup. Each of the two items have scalloped rims and the tea cup stand on a short pedestal base. Royal Vale was a trade name used by HJ Colclough after the 1913 visit of King George IV and Queen Mary to the Vale Works.

The 5 saucers available are stamped underneath “Royal Vale Bone China, Made in England”. Three tea cups are stamped underneath “Bone China, Royal Vale, Made in England, a product of Ridgway Potteries Ltd”.  Two tea cups are stamped underneath: “Royal Vale Bone China, Made in England”.

Besides age related fading of the gold trim, all items are in very good condition with no visible damages.

Saucer height of rim: 2 cm, Diameter of base: 4.4 cm, Diameter of rim: 14 cm

Tea cup height of rim: 6.8 cm, Diameter of base: 4.2 cm, Diameter of rim: 8.4 cm
